Webcam Mirror — Free Online Camera Mirror with Filters & Photo Booth

runs on your deviceFree, no sign-upOpen full screen

Turn your webcam into a live mirror in your browser — flip, filter, add framing guides, and capture photos or bursts. Free, no signup, nothing uploaded.

What it does

Webcam Mirror turns your laptop or desktop camera into a live, flipped mirror right in your browser tab — the same way a bathroom mirror works, except you can also apply filters, overlay a grid for framing, and snap photos without installing anything. It runs entirely on your device: your video feed is never uploaded, streamed, or stored anywhere except the photos you choose to save.

How it works

The mirror effect is a simple horizontal flip applied to your live camera feed, but the tool does the harder part correctly: when you crop a photo to a square or vertical guide, the crop and the mirror have to line up, or you end up saving the wrong half of the frame. Webcam Mirror always computes the crop region from the center outward, so mirroring and cropping never fight each other — what you see in the guide is exactly what lands in the saved photo.

Filters (grayscale, sepia, brightness, contrast, blur, and more) run live using your browser's built-in image-processing pipeline, so there's no lag and no upload — the same filter that's shown on screen is baked into the photo the instant you capture it. If your camera exposes real optical zoom or a torch/flashlight (common on phones and some external webcams), the tool detects and uses it directly instead of faking it with a lower-quality digital crop.

How to use it

  1. Click Start camera and allow browser access when prompted.
  2. Pick a resolution and camera device if you have more than one connected.
  3. Turn on a grid overlay or a crop guide (square, vertical, or widescreen) to frame your shot.
  4. Adjust filters with the sliders in the sidebar — changes apply instantly.
  5. Click the capture button, or set a countdown and burst count first for hands-free multi-shot sessions.
  6. Download individual photos, grab the whole session as a zip, or send a shot straight to the image cropper if you want to reframe it afterward.

FAQ

Does this upload my camera feed anywhere? No. The video stream stays on your device the entire time; only the photos you explicitly capture ever leave the live camera view, and even those stay local until you download them.

Why did my photo capture come out unmirrored when I turned off the mirror toggle? That's expected — turning the mirror off shows your camera exactly as it sees you (like a photo, not a reflection), and captures always match whatever the live preview is showing at that moment.

My camera has real zoom on my phone — does this use it? Yes, when your browser exposes camera zoom or torch capabilities, Webcam Mirror uses them directly. If it isn't available, a digital zoom slider is offered instead, with a note that it crops rather than truly zooming.

Will my captured photos still be there if I accidentally refresh the page? Yes — captures are saved to your browser's local storage as you take them, so a refresh won't lose your photo-booth session. There's a "Clear gallery" button whenever you want to remove them for good.

Can I use this to check my appearance before a video call, not just take photos? Yes — that's the core use case. Start the camera, use the grid to check your framing, and use Fullscreen or the pop-out picture-in-picture button to keep it visible while you get ready.

Does it work if I don't have a webcam, only a phone camera? On mobile browsers that support camera access (most modern ones), yes — you can pick your front or rear camera from the device list.

Privacy

Nothing about your camera feed is ever sent over the network. Captured photos are stored using your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) so they survive a refresh, but they never leave your device unless you explicitly download or export them. Clearing the gallery removes them completely.
